Transportability and Brokerage Click to learn more
Unlike conventional welder qualifications, MWC provides a brokerage system so that when a welder changes employers, the new employer can purchase the residual value of the welder's competency record, and the prior employer is reimbursed for this residual value
The residual value is based on the minimum direct costs to obtain the MWC Competency Level, which diminishes in value over the 3 year life of the competency.
This means that employers do not have to pay the full costs for the competency assessment for new welders, and that they are not out of pocket when a welder leaves.
This system also makes it easier to hire new welders based on known and proven competency records, rather than having to do testing prior to hiring.
It also means that a welder is ready to start work on mine sites from the first day of employment, with no delay for completing the competency assessment.
Single certificate rather than lots of separate qualifications Click to learn more
Typical welder qualifications to standards such as ISO9606 require multiple test coupons in order to fully cover the required range of processes, materials, joint types, positions and consumables. This can be costly to do and requires multiple welder qualifications that need to be managed and kept valid. Use the MWC to demonstrate welder competence via a single certificate.
