This short presentation provides a general overview of the MWC
The following infographic shows the various crack repair scenarios, steel types, and welding processes that are included in the Assessment Coupon for each competency level. This means that there is direct and tangible demonstration of a welders proficiency when doing typical crack repairs of mining equipment.
Exclusions
The MWC specifically does not cover the following activities or processes, which require either custom training or are regulated items that have specific Standards that must be met.

Custom WPS based repairs
Validity Period
The MWC is valid for 3 years.
A verification is required every 6 months to confirm the Welder is actively working and still has the same employer
Re-validation is possible if NDT reports can be provided for all of welds done in the last 6 months which cover the same range of joint types, positions, materials and processes that are in the competency test piece.
